Eagle Picher Rough Terrain Forklifts Maryland

Eagle Picher Rough Terrain Forklifts Maryland

Rough terrain lift trucks are excellent for many outdoor construction and loading requirements. Normally, rough terrain lift truck models are used to lift items like bricks, concrete, steel beams, lumber and other heavy stuff.

There are two key ways that a rough terrain model forklift differs from the traditional lift truck: they use IC engines for their power source and they utilize thick treaded, inflatable tires to allow operators to drive them over loose or uneven terrain.

These pieces of equipment are very rugged and strong vehicles. Numerous units of rough terrain, heavy duty lift trucks are capable of carrying several tons of material at the same time. These machinery are calibrated carefully in order to provide a counterbalance at the back of the lift. This counterbalance is what prevents the load from making the lift tip forward. Certain rough terrain models provide 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steering. The majority of rough terrain forklifts use a hydraulic system which is responsible for lowering and raising the forks.

Rough terrain forklifts are powered by IC engines. These engines provide more power compared to electric engines, and allow for greater acceleration and speed. There are a variety of different internal combustion engines which run on various other kinds of fuels. For example, among the most common types of fuels for these models include gasoline, CNG or compressed natural gas, diesel and liquid propane or LP. Diesel is the most common type of fuel and it is also the cheapest, however, it is not as commonly found as gas. Among the key benefits of the IC or internal combustion engines is that they really decrease refueling time.

The tire choice on a rough terrain lift truck is an extremely vital factor. With the right tires, rough terrain lift trucks are capable of riding over uneven ground because of the traction provided by the tires. There are certain rough terrain forklifts that enable people to drive these machinery over mud, snow, ice, rocks and wood, practically transforming them into an unstoppable machinery. Most of these tires are similar to typical tires found on automobiles and trucks and are filled with air, although, some units are made out of solid rubber.

A rough terrain forklift is a superior addition to any construction site. These kinds of machines enable operators to move thousands of tons of material over rough and hazardous ground.
