Solid Lift Truck Tire Safety
Over 200 deaths each and every year within North America are caused by lift trucks, or forklifts. Correct maintenance and inspection of forklift tires could help to reduce the risk of accidents.

Pre-Work Inspection
The tires on the forklift should be checked at the start of each shift, inspected for signs of wear and damage. The air pressure inside the tires should be checked to ensure the pressure is not very low. Having a tire pressure that is low could make the equipment susceptible to tip-overs when lifting loads.

Types of Tires
The tire type of the forklift would be based upon the kind of floor surface that the forklift will operate on. Solid rubber tires are recommended for indoor application. For surfaces which are smooth, tires tend to be smaller. Bigger pneumatic tires are best for lift trucks being utilized outdoors. Pneumatic tires are able to grip well on surfaces that are rough as they have rubber tread and are air-filled.

Other Considerations
According to OSHA guidelines, all lift trucks require some continual daily and some periodic checks that is performed every shift. The tires should be checked once more for any sign of damage, such as wear or cuts.

Forklift Safety
If you or your employees would be using forklifts, correct training in lift truck safety is essential. Lift truck accidents can lead to serious personal injuries or death and lead to unmanageable financial difficulty. Even minor accidents can cost your business money if the goods or the forklift are damaged in a mishap. Be sure you truly know a lot regarding forklift safety problems.
