Skyjack Safety
A scissor lift is a particular kind of industrial machinery that is utilized for "positioning personnel, their equipment and their tools," according to Skyjack. Anybody who is getting ready to use this particular type of equipment should familiarize themselves with the suggested operational and safety measures recommended by the manufacturer in order to stay safe before trying to utilize this particular equipment. It can be devastating to the operator themselves and any bystanders resulting in serious injuries if the safety recommendations are not followed.

Area
In the best situation, scissor lifts function at optimum levels on totally level ground. The area has to be inspected and cleared of any loose debris before driving a scissor lift over a certain terrain. To be able to lower the risks of the scissor lift tipping over and probably causing the operator to fall from his seat. It is recommended to keep away from steep grades or holes while operating. Bystanders must also remain aware and stay clear of the operating scissor lift in order to make sure that they do not get run over.

Inspection
Prior to trying to use a scissor lift, the user must thoroughly check all the important components of the machine. The operator can see if all the parts are functioning properly before the task is initiated, a functional test is done while the lift is retracted. It is recommended to complete a daily inspection on this machine prior to the shift starting and some places even want an inspection to occur at the end of the shift too. Different companies have different policies in place to maintain safety.

Checking the tires should be part of the inspection. These components obviously add to the movability of the scissor lift and also provide the equipment with a solid foundation. A worn or faulty tire could blow and throw the operator from their place on top of scissor lift.
