Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck can be utilized. The reach truck comes in several types: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The simplest kind is the stand-up. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods. This model consists of telescopic forks intended to position the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet needs to go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide underneath the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This model is ideal in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Inside nearly all warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and could maximize available storage space while increasing production.
