Propane cylinders are designed to take up very little space and can be kept inside the storage area or in an outdoor facility. It does take some time to switch out a propane cylinder, although, it still does require knowledge of safety standards like the OSHA or Occupational Health and Safety Administration and also requires operator training in order to be conducted safely.

IC trucks are faster and easier to refuel, compared to electric lift trucks, but the internal combustion or IC engines produce major air-polluting emissions and are very noisy.

NARROW-AISLE LIFT TRUCKS
The ITA's Class 2 trucks comprise a large array of electric forklifts and these are specially made to be used in narrow aisles. The standard storage aisles are 12 feet wide, and this easily allows a counterbalanced lift truck to turn in the aisle and put a load away. Usually, the very narrow aisles are around 5.5 to 6 feet wide, whereas narrow aisles are 8 feet wide. These narrow aisles require specialized lift trucks that can put away loads that are small enough to turn on a tight radius or without any turning at all.

The three most common narrow aisle forklifts are the order pickers, reach trucks and turret trucks. The differences amongst these trucks are discussed below.

Narrow-Aisle Reach Trucks
The original narrow-aisle forklift is considered to be the conventional reach truck. These equipment do not require a large counterweight and are hence, small enough to turn in narrow aisles. Instead, stability is provided by the outrigger arms which extend in front of the forklifts. Nonetheless, depending on the storage configuration, these outrigger arms can prevent the forklifts from getting near enough to the storage rack to deposit and retrieve loads. To be able to overcome this situation, a pantograph was designed. The pantograph is a reach truck that is made with a telescoping device. This enables forks to concisely and easily reach into storage locations.

The ideal environment for a narrow-aisle lift truck is a place that is clean, has good lighting, and has good traffic flow, well-maintained floors, as well as an ample turning aisle.
These machines have changed the material handling industry. Toyota stands behind their dedication to offering very durable machines and excellent quality. As the business evolves, they always strive to apply solutions in order to give their diverse customer base with the best products available.
