Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an essential device within industry and commercial businesses ever since 1917. Throughout its history the forklift has changed through different forms, from a tractor with an attached platform to a particular high-tech machine. Forklift tires have also evolved into particular tires, with various kinds designed to meet particular functions.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
Rubber or solid polyurethane are the types of materials used to construct cushion tires. They are suitable for indoor work on surfaces that are smooth. The cushion tire tread is bonded or pressed onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated for various load capacities and for ease of steering. Cushion tires are normally used in warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with foam or air. They are offered in two types: radial or bias. Depending upon the use, they come with different sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are usually used outdoors on surfaces that are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire with the puncture resistance of a solid tire. They are an alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Large rubber tires, that can either be pneumatic, foam or solid, are used on wheel loader forklifts. These kinds of tires are best for transporting and loading bulk items onto trucks or into processing equipment. Big flotation pneumatic tires are best for masted rough terrain forklifts normally used at construction sites, auto recyclers and lumberyards.
