Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic lift trucks provide versatility and height. These units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck. The arm, or crane, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the person using it to maintain a high degree of control while raising the load to great heights. Standard lift trucks can not move the load away from and towards the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually utilized in both construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that enable the operator to apply uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It is available with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This kind of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A man basket is a lift platform designed specially to raise employees. The basket attaches to the forks on the forklift, held in with a strap or chain that is to be directly secured to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
