Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run from LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various uses. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machine must be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. For example: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
