JLG Telehandlers Maryland

John L. Grove chose to stop working after spending numerous years working side by side with his brother to be able to establish their crane manufacturing company into a global leader. John and his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by going on a cross-country journey utilizing their R.V. After that trip, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the world's leading producer of mobile aerial work platforms and specialized material handling machines.

John spent much of the time in the R.V. trip talking to prior business associates that the Groves were visiting on their trip. While they visited the Hoover Dam, sadly, 2 employees were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. During subsequent conversations, John saw a big untapped market for a kind of product that could safely and quickly raise people into the air in order to carry out construction and maintenance work.

John decided to take action when John and his wife returned from the trip. He started a partnership with two dear friends when they bought a small metal manufacturing company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In the year 1970, with an original crew of 20 employees, the trio built and sold the very first JLG aerial work platform. Many components of the basic design elements of that first machine are still being integrated into the current machinery

Since John L. Grove first drove back into town from his cross-country trip, the business has come a very long way. They have dramatically grown since their first aerial work platform originally launched on the marketplace. Even these days, JLG continues to expand into additional global markets. Many innovative machines are designed to help customers be more productive and work safer.

JLG has remained committed to being at the forefront of the industry. The company takes operator comfort into consideration very seriously. They strive to deliver in overall comfort and safety, as well as in performance so that the operator could be as productive as possible.
