Jungheinrich LP Forklift Maryland

The forklift is an essential piece of machinery in most companies which operate warehouses, distribution centers, industrial and storage handling plants. This great equipment, the forklift is made of many components, like the important carriage, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Lift trucks generally have a range of attachments also. The following are a few of the most important components of a lift truck.

Lift Truck Engine - the lift truck is designed with a power source at the rear of the machine. Different types of lift trucks have various kinds of engine that need varying power sources. For example, a forklift with an IC engine could have any of the following as its power source: LP gas, CNG gas, gasoline or diesel. Electric motor lift trucks receive their power from a battery or fuel cells.

Truck Frame - the base of the forklift truck and the most essential of all the lift truck components is the truck frame. This forms the machine's core. All other parts of a lift truck are attached to the base, like for instance the counterweight, overhead guard, axles, mast and wheels. Fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks may also be part of the frame assembly.

Counterweight Forklift Parts - While carrying heavy cargo, the counterweight allows the machine to be balanced. This particular component is cast iron and comes attached to the back of the forklift. The counterbalance balances the frame of the truck to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being lifted or carried on the front. In an electric forklift, the heavy lead-acid battery gives balance and can work as part of the counterweight.

The Cab Area - The cab is also known as the operator compartment. Lift trucks will sometimes have closed cabs whilst others will be open to the air. There are really a lot of components situated in the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such important components like the pedals, seats, levers, switches, steering wheel and operator controls. The dashboard contains operator readouts.
